THE rain might have been pouring but the mood was tropical at Shirehampton Primary School this week.

Year six pupils at the school on St Mary's Walk celebrated their final days in primary education with a Hawaiian prom on Thursday evening.

The school hall was transformed into a tropical paradise with palm trees and garlands adorning every corner, ready for the pupils to say their goodbyes to their teachers.

Head teacher Louisa Munton said: "This prom has only been possible as a result of the hard work of a group of parents as well as donations from the local community. We'd like to thank them for all their efforts."
