Keynsham suffer second defeat of season
Keynsham suffered only their second Under-10 Division B defeat of the season, losing 4-3 on aggregate against Highridge United in a match which was shortened due to the monsoon-like conditions.
After Highridge's star player Cameron Williams had fired his side in front following Jack Godfrey's fine through ball, Keynsham hit back to win the first game 2-1.
Lewis Coleman headed an equaliser from a super Corey Clifton corner. And man-of-the-match Clifton was also involved in the excellent move that ended with Lochlainn Collins tapping in the winner.
Kierra Greenslade produced some terrific saves and Oliver Greenslade tackled well to ensure Keynsham were kept at arm's length after that, while at the other end Williams almost levelled for Highridge with a brilliant shot which hit the bar.
Highridge surged into a two-goal lead in game two thanks to a brilliant double from star man Kyle Matthews.
Keynsham's leading scorer Joel Milhofer pulled one back to tie up the aggregate scores, but Lucas Blackmore scrambled in Highridge's clincher in the 3-1 success. George Rooke caught the eye in Keysnham's midfield with his gritty determination. Ben Priddis and Callum White ran tirelessly for the victors while Aaron Banfield and Harry Hemmings were magnificent in their defence in front of keeper Karl Finn.
Charlie Dunn scored Longwell Green Sports' goal in a 4-1 defeat by Bristol Rovers JSC in Division A.
The match had to be cut short due to injuries to Longwell players.
Bitton swept to an impressive 8-2 victory at Henbury Colts.
They won the first game 4-1 with two goals from Todd Carter and strikes by George Jones and Harry Prewett, who finished off Eli Britton's cross at the far post. It was more of the same in the second encounter, with Bitton scoring first through when Louis Brown set up Dan White to finish neatly.
After Henbury had equalised, Ollie Shopland popped up to restore Bitton's lead from a good move involving Brown and Terrell Patterson down the right.
White got a second courtesy of another Brown assist and then turned provider for Shopland to grab his second.
With Rob Smyth buzzing in midfield, Bitton always looked likely to create more chances but were happy to settle for a second 4-1 success.
