COLLEAGUES past and present gathered to celebrate a travel agent's 25 years in Knowle.

Karen Duffin, 41, has worked at First Choice Travel, and previously Bakers Dolphin Travel, based in Broadwalk shopping centre since she was 16. She initially started as a trainee and worked her way up to management.

Karen, who lives in Whitchurch, now works as a senior sales consultant four days a week while bringing up her four-year-old daughter.

She has seen the travel business change in the past 25 years, from bucket and spade UK holidays to more exotic faraway destinations.

Former colleague Tina Mall said: "Karen has many loyal customers who book with only her year in year out and is friendly to all her know her. Colleagues past and present know Karen as a fun loving party goer, loyal to her work and to her friends.

A group of Karen's past and present colleagues surprised her with a meal at the Blue Ginger restaurant in Gilda Parade, Whitchurch.
