JURORS in the case of a man accused of threatening to bomb the English Defence League, days before the far right group staged a march through Bristol, were considering their verdict today.

Father-of-five Sakander Mahmood, 26, has admitted sending the right-wing group a message through its website which said: "14th July in Bristol, You are getting bombed".

"It was stupid, out of order. I can't believe I'm stood here. I didn't think."

Mahmood, who denies a charge of communicating a bomb hoax, said he had no interest in Islamic politics and was not very religious.

The march, attended by about 300 EDL supporters, took place four days after Mahmood sent the message. Policing it and a counter-demonstration cost £500,000.
