Avon Youth League: Keynsham Town Under-14s are off the mark at last, gaining their first Division I win of the season with a thrilling 3-2 victory at Almondsbury.

Skipper Josh Rice led by example for the visitors and gave them the lead with a fine individual effort .

A mix-up in the Almondsbury defence, following Harry Creber's determined run, enabled Mitch Greenslade to double their advantage before the break.

Olly Griffiths' strike immediately after the interval pulled one back for the home side, only for Rice to score again with a looping header. Griffiths scored his second of the match direct from a free-kick for Almonds to set up an exciting finale, but a stout performance from the Keynsham back four, led by Louis Sealey, secured them the points.

Bitton won their third successive league game, beating Ashton Boys 8-1.

Three goals from centre-forward Harry Bradford, a Taylor Biggs brace and efforts by Liam Henderson, Jack Rhys-Jones and Dan Palomequ saw them home.

Ashton goalkeeper Thomas Glade pulled off a number of outstanding saves to deny Bitton further goals.

Ashton Boys B enjoyed a convincing 2-0 victory away against Broadwalk in Division II.

Jack Harris, with a 25-yard free-kick, and Alistair Cummins got their goals. Josh Selby made an impressive debut for Ashton, while Broadwalk's best effort came from a Tyler Long free-kick, which was well saved by Ben Walters.

In Division IV, a strong first-half performance by Southmead CS paved the way for a 5-1 win against Bishport United.

Oliver Bryant, Josh Palmer, Ryan Connolly and Reece Evans all hit the target as Southmead surged into a 4-0 first-half lead, helped by a strong performance from Charlie Barbour at the back.

Bishport carried the game to Southmead after the break, hitting the woodwork three times before pulling one back. But Evans struck his second goal to put Southmead 5-1 up and, with Oliver Bryant marshalling his defence well, there was no way back for Bishport.

● Jake Bryan scored twice as Stoke Lane beat Fry Colts 4-1 in Under-14 Division I.

Alex Bisp and Jack Sayers were also on target, while Liam Lloyd and Will Clarke were their top performers.

Bradley Stoke United returned to Division II action with a 4-1 win over Henbury Colts.

Nathan Redmore and James Skelton put them 2-0 up and only some great saves by Henbury keeper Charlie Daniels prevented more goals.

Kyle Paul added a third after the break for United and, after Franklin Stallard had pulled one back for Henbury, a quick throw-in by Skelton put Redmore through to claim Stoke's fourth goal.

AEK-Boco won for the first time in Division II, beating Longwell Green 3-0.

Adam Shovelton scored twice, the second finishing off a slick pass from Luke Nash, before Josh Curnow struck from close range to give Boco a 3-0 half-time lead. The second half was tighter and, despite some deft touches from new signing Umar Usman, Boco were unable to add to their lead

Keynsham Town B overcame Mangotsfield United 4-1 in Division III.

Joshua Cottrell gave Keynsham an early lead, heading in Dan Notley's corner, before Notley, on his return from injury, made it 2-0, coolly slotting home from the edge of the box.

Cottrell grabbed his second with a delightful chip following a defence-splitting pass from Liam Crew.

Mangotsfield pulled a goal back shortly after half-time but Notley made sure of the win with his second goal after more good work by Crew.

In the same division, Coalpit Heath claimed a 3-2 win over Nicholas Wanderers.

Jamie Jonas gave the visitors the lead before Heath got into the game with two quick goals. Luke Burman capped another impressive display by setting up Nathan Lloyd to fire home with his left foot, then good work from Ashton Coleman and Hayden Watkins allowed Lloyd to tee up Harley Nethercott to net the second.

Straight from the restart, Heath added a third when a superb pass by debutant Nathan Scrivens put Lloyd through to slide home.

Man-of-the-match Tyler Johnson and Brad Simons kept the Heath defence tight before Jonas netted for Wanderers with a cracking free-kick.

Southmead CS Colts handed Hanham Athletic their first defeat of the Division V season with a 4-3 victory.

Colts raced into a 3-0 first-half lead with goals from Andre Chidgey, Jimi Brock and Cory Harrison.

Hanham roared back to level but Jacob Kocinski sealed the points for Southmead with a winner two minutes from time.

● Whitchurch Sports A recorded their third straight win to beat Ashton Boys B 4-0 in Under-12 Division 2.

All the goals came in the second half, Chris French opening the scoring by slotting home from 15 yards.

Jacob Sparks struck a fine goal from 20 yards, Luke Trowbridge made it 3-0 after Sparks' shot was spilled by the Ashton keeper, and James King completed the scoring following a mazy run.

Shire Colts lost 10-0 against Brislington Juniors but there were still some decent performances to applaud from their perspective.

They started strongly in the first half, with Jack Harvey, Cameron Findlay and Mitchell Lockyer all defending well. Shire's star man Euan Scott and keeper Gareth Hobdey also did well in the face of adversity.

Thornbury Falcons thrashed Fry Club Colts 14-0 in the Division III.

Harry Shipp fed Jordan Saxton for the opening goal and then doubled the lead himself after being set up superbly by Joe Randall.

Shipp (2), Jonny Skinner and Randall piled on the misery for Fry's with further goals before the break.

Right winger Arthur Severinsen set up a tap-in for Dan Worsley shortly after the restart, Kieron Bancroft made it 8-0 with a fierce shot, and Worsley grabbed his second with a deft chip.

Saxton latched on to a Severinsen cross to complete his hat-trick before defender Sam Hussey got his first goal of the season.

Not to be outdone, goalkeeper Dan Watkins went on a mazy run to smash home his first Falcons goal and followed it up by converting a penalty for his second. Asher Budd intercepted a short goal kick to wrap up an emphatic win.

Bristol Rovers JSC B pipped hosts Henbury 4-3 in a Division IV thriller.

Henbury took the lead after 10 minutes through Will Webster, but Rovers' Mitchell Jeffries scored twice in quick succession to make it 2-1 at the break, then notched his third from the penalty spot soon after the restart.

Liam Walter slotted home to reduce the arrears for Henbury but the good work was undone when Harry Webb struck Rovers' fourth 10 minutes from time. Again, the hosts refused to give up and Connor Parsons grabbed a goal back, but Rovers held on for the three points.

● Whitchurch Sports swept to an emphatic 5-2 Under-15 Division II win over Fry Club Colts.

Fry's took an early lead but Whitchurch hit back hard. James Dean equalised with a thumping header from Connor Kingdon's marauding run and cross and they forged in front when Dean's sublime pass put Kingdon away to fire into the corner of the net.

Danny Hawkins slotted home Josh Brunt's cross to give them a 3-1 half-time advantage.

Fry's got a goal back early in the second half but Whitchurch pulled away with goals from star man Brunt and a second for Kingdon, courtesy of terrific assists by Dean and Dan Febry respectively.

Rockleaze Rangers moved back to the top of Under-16 Division III with a 2-1 victory over Fry Club Colts.

Both teams started the game with 100 per cent records but it was Rockleaze who struck first, Jordan Lindo firing home an inch-perfect pass from Jonny Bradbeer.

An impressive start to the second half saw Fry's level through Callum Whooley, but Rockleaze snatched victory when Ollie Rush, who had hit the bar in the first half, burst down the right and sent in a tantalising cross which a Fry's defender could only divert into his own net.

Bradbeer and Tom Ashford dominated midfield for Rockleaze, while keeper Nick Adams produced one fabulous save and Joe Brooks was named player of the match.
