Nick Jones scored twice to take Bristol Sanctuary back to the top of Division I with a 2-1 victory over VCF Santos.

The midfielder put the reigning champions ahead from the penalty spot just before half-time after Jon Mailey fouled Dan Jones inside the area. Jones then sealed the three points with a fierce strike from 15 yards before Alan Foster netted a late consolation for Santos.

Woodlands Rangers had moved above BSXI into top spot with a 2-0 win over Jim Tickner's side in midweek. Matt Hyde and Andy Baynton clinched a crucial victory for Woodies and the two teams are now only separated by goal difference with three games left to play.

Counterslip Baptist's bid to snatch third-placed faltered with a 2-1 defeat at Christchurch Clifton. John Spring netted for Slip, but goals from Rich McNerney and Nick Price cemented Christchurch's place in the top half of the table.

Nailsea Churches battled to a 3-3 draw with Widcombe Wanderers but remain in the relegation zone with just one game left to play.

The Sanctuary continued their march to the Division II title with two impressive victories over sides in the bottom half of the table.

In midweek, Nigel Farmer's team crushed BS4 7-0, Ricky Bush leading the way with a hat-trick and Tom Smye-Rumsby scoring twice. And on Saturday the leaders overcame Welton Rangers 5-0, with Ugar Bocu hitting two goals.

Second-placed SAS United kept up the pressure as they edged to a 3-2 win at Widcombe Corinthians. Mike Dorney struck twice and Mike Cawley was also on target, but SAS were made to work hard as Rob Mallia and Ameer Zaid hit back for Corinthians.
