Johnny Ball master class for Bristol Cathedral Choir School
Maths whizz and television presenter Johnny Ball spanned the centuries with a master class for pupils at Bristol Cathedral Choir School.
Johnny, guest of honour at the academy's annual prize-giving, told 65 maths students about the subject's history.

Later he presented the prizes as 1,000 pupils, parents, staff and guests gathered in Bristol Cathedral for speech day.
Chairman of governors Stephen Parsons introduced "Bristol boy" Johnny to the audience: "He is passionate about maths, science and engineering, and is an outstanding communicator to people."
The ceremony began with the cathedral choir. There was also a performance by the school's gospel choir, formed earlier this year, and sixth former William Drakett closed with an organ voluntary on the cathedral organ.
