John Readings hit a hat-trick as Winford PH defeated Fishponds OB 6-4 at Fry's in the only Bristol Suburban League Premier I game to beat the cold weather.

Adam Lane scored twice in the first 10 minutes to give Winford a flying start. Fishponds hit back to make it 2-1 but Readings grabbed the first of his treble and, although the Old Boys scored again, Wayne Rose netted to give Winford a 4-2 half-time lead.

Fishponds scored twice after the break to level the score but Readings had the final word with two more goals to clinch all three points for Winford.

Bristol North West won for the second successive week, beating Tytherington Rocks Reserves 5-4 in a thrilling Premier II clash at Pen Park. Craig Price (2), Owen Wolfe, Sam Bowley and Richard Coward gave North West a 5-3 half-time lead. Rocks scored the only goal of the second period but were unable to force an equaliser.

There was seven goals in the game at Severn Beach, who beat Little Stoke 4-3 to move up to fourth place. Dan Daley, Jack Newman, Jordan Cutler and Mike Wilmott, with a late winner, were on target for Beach.

Ashton Seniors took their unbeaten run to eight games and moved up to third place in Division I by defeating Hengrove Athletic 3-0 at Greville Smyth Park thanks to goals from Kane Adams (2) and Jerome Fernandez.

Thrissell Nomads go into the Christmas break in pole position in Division II. While their rivals had their games called off, Nomads beat Stoke Gifford United Reserves 3-1 with goals from K O'Connor (2) and Niall O'Loughlin .

Jordan Stone and Nick Townsend were on the mark for Lockleaze Reserves, who won 2-0 at BW Athletic to move into second place in Division III.

Oldbury Crusaders Reserves are the new leaders of Division IV after beating St Anne's Town 2-1 in a game which was switched from The Netham to Muller Road. Skipper Ian Ferris netted Saints' consolation goal.

Nick Winfield scored all four goals for second-placed Wanderers, including the winner with 10 minutes to go, as they pipped Filton Athletic Reserves 4-3.

Frank Pailing, Pat Kavanagh and Mike Mumby were on target for Athletic, who missed a penalty with the score at 3-3

Bottom-of-the-table Wessex Wanderers Reserves won their first game of the season, beating Lawrence Weston Reserves 4-3 at home.

John Flynn, Clayton Kingman and Scott Harrison gave Wanderers a 3-0 lead but Lawrence Weston, who would have gone top if they had won, fought back to 3-3 only to be sunk by Lee Dorgan's winner.

Fourth-placed Brandon TT Sports lost 3-1 at home to Emersons Green. Gary Jones, Rich Springett and Raj Birk scored for Green, with Aaron Amos replying for Sports.

Veteran striker Jimmy Churchill netted five times for free-scoring Poker County UK, who beat Mangotsfield United B 6-5 despite falling 2-0 behind early on. They fought back to lead 6-3 before two late Mangotsfield goals left them hanging on at the end.

Whitchurch Reserves travelled to Eastville Park and won for the third time this season, beating Knowle Rangers 5-3.
