Jazz guitarist Roy Sainsbury has joined Besley Hill Town & Country Homes at Whitchurch Village as a negotiator.

Roy, who is brother of the branch's franchisee, Lynne Derrick, has played with both small groups and big bands on numerous radio and TV programmes, including working with TV stars like Humphrey Lyttelton and Michael Parkinson, as well as performing live at jazz festivals and venues such as Ronnie Scott's in London.

For a time he was a member of a 12-piece dance band at the Locarno Ballroom in Bristol, where he played everything from pop to strict tempo dance music six nights a week.

Lynne Derrick said: "I didn't need to look any further than Roy when I set out to find someone who would be enthusiastic and committed to the business.

"I knew that he would take to his role as a negotiator quite naturally because we come from a family with an estate agency background."
