Hockey: All three Slazenger EHA sides resume their National League fixtures this week.

In Women's Premier Division, Clifton Ladies travel to Ipswich on Saturday and then play bottom club Chelmsford on Sunday in a game which was postponed before the break because of adverse pitch conditions.

Clifton defeated Ipswich 3-2 in the opening game of the season.

Izzy Palmer's side will hope to gain maximum points from the two games to consolidate their mid-table position.

Firebrands men entertain Cardiff/UWIC at Failand on Sunday (1pm) hoping for improved results in the second half of the season.

Firebrands are at the foot of National Conference West, though a win on Sunday would move them level with their opponents.

Firebrands Ladies, after a pleasing first half of the season, visit Rover Oxford on Saturday, looking to improve their mid-table position.

In West Women's Premier I, Redland Ladies lost 8-2 against Taunton Vale, while goals from Gemma Taylor (3), Helen Reeves, Helen Ware and Sophie Bradley helped Redland 2nds defeat Old Bristolians 2nds 6-2.

Nicky Yates grabbed the decisive goal for Redland 3rds to beat Yate/South Glos 3rds and Zoe Barnett did likewise for Thornbury who won 1-0 at Lodway.

Sarah Stewart scored 4 for Thornbury 2nds in a 8-0 victory over Jaspers 3rds. The other goals came from Mel Joseph (2), Amanda Ponting and Annie Griffin.

In Central Division, Old Bristolians defeated Swanage 6-0 with goals from Kirsty Leach (3), Laura Stone, Vicky Castle and Caroline Donnelly.

On Sunday, the West Under-18 inter-county tournament takes place at Clifton College, Abbots Leigh, with play starting at 9.30am.

In N.4 Financial Solutions Premier I, Westbury/Utd Banks went down 5-1 against Bristol University and the 2nds lost 4-1 to Lydney.
