One of the most enjoyable things about leading The Red Maids’ School is the strong sense of belonging and identity that Red Maids share.

As the country’s oldest girls’ school foundation we are proud of our tradition. This doesn’t mean that we are old fashioned though.

Our excellent facilities include the latest technological provision in five ICT suites, an international standard all-weather pitch and extensively modernised sixth form seminar teaching block, all set in 12 acres of beautiful grounds.

We encourage academic excellence, results are consistently in the first division of the national league tables and from September 2009 we are planning to introduce the International Baccalaureate alongside A-levels.

Every year girls are successful at Oxbridge, in winning places to read medicine and in taking up places in leading universities. But the school offers much more than outstanding results. It is important for me that every Red Maid is happy and involved. We strive to ensure that each student is encouraged to discover and develop her own abilities.

At Red Maids’, the space and security allow girls to develop their confidence and talents in an environment uniquely suited to them.

Join us for our open mornings at 9.45am on October 2 and November 8 to see for yourself or call our admissions team on 0117 962 2641. Also see www.redmaids.bristol.sch.uk.
