Ingleside are gunned down by hat-trick hero Jack
Star performer Luke Cambell and hat-trick hero Jack Young shone for Salvation Army Under-11s as they swept aside Ingleside B 7-2 in a one-sided Division B encounter at Frenchay Common.
The home team went into half-time 3-1 up, Ingleside managing to thwart countless attacks with good defending and benefiting from some wasteful play by Salvation Army.
The floodgates opened in the second half, though, birthday boy Young winning the match ball by hitting a brilliant hat-trick. He was joined on the scoresheet by Sam McGregor (2), Emre Akbayir and Keanu Burgess.
Curtis Vinall struck from the penalty spot for Ingleside and got his second goal with a skilful shot on the turn from a corner.
Ingleside A and Shire A shared the spoils in a tense top-of-the-table Under-11 Division A clash, which ended 2-2.
Ingleside took a deserved first-half lead when clever inter-play between Abdirahman Nur and Reece Mathews ended with the latter drilling an angled shot into the net.
Shire equalised early in the second half when a hopeful lob by Ewan Hughes was spilled into the net by the otherwise outstanding Ingleside keeper Akram Abdulahi. Within two minutes, Ingleside restored their lead through Nur, who finished off a brilliant passing sequence by coolly firing the ball into the bottom corner.
Ingleside could have extended their lead through Tyrese Kefentse, but his well-struck shot hit a post.
With a few minutes remaining, Joseph St John converted at the far post to earn Shire a point.
In Under-11 Division B, Clifton United B were soundly beaten 7-1 at their Abbots Leigh home by leaders Shire Colts B.
Shire opened the scoring early on and didn't look back as a display of disciplined shape and passing saw them finish the half 4-0 to the good.
Aided by the slope and wind, Clifton rallied well in the second period, creating a number of chances.
Colts were still dangerous on the counter, however, and they struck three more times before a well-deserved goal from Hugh Sadler gave Clifton some consolation.
Shire's scorers were Corey Cotterill (3), Ben Prosser, Dan Wass, Jude Jones and Edward Wilson.
A much-improved team performance delivered Downend Saints Under-9s their first win of the season.
Opponents Ingleside started strongly but the game changed when Saints were awarded a penalty on 15 minutes. Sam Manning was tripped as he turned sharply in the penalty area and Jack O'Hara placed the resulting spot-kick into the bottom left corner.
Five minutes after the break, Sam Nicholas to cut in from the left and beat the keeper at his near post for Saints' second goal.
Five minutes later, Manning was picked out unmarked inside the box to coolly slot the ball into the bottom right corner of the net to make it 3-0.
Saints keeper William Evans was quick off his line to cut out three Ingleside opportunities but was finally beaten when his initial save rebounded to Alex Hitchin, who shot into an empty net.
Manning had the final say, however, chipping the Ingleside keeper from six yards to complete a 4-1 win.
