Improved Mangotsfield still suffer defeat
Farnborough Tn 3 Mangotsfield Tn 1: Mangotsfield made table-topping Farnborough battle hard before clinching victory in the closing minutes of the game with a third goal.
Field included new signing from Brislington Danny Barwood, but despite a much-improved performance they slipped to their fifth successive defeat.
"We failed to put away three good chances, but it was as a big improvement," said manager Paul Milsom.
Farnborough took an early lead when the defence failed to deal with a cross from former Mangotsfield winger Darren Wheeler, which gave Mark Gamble the chance to beat goalkeeper Matt Dunk.
Farnborough made it 2-0 five minutes before the interval when a cross from the left was headed clear by Hendy but the ball fell to Ryan Scott, who volleyed in from 25 yards.
Mangotsfield pulled a goal back when substitute James Fitzpatrick scored following a long throw-in.
But with Mangotsfield looking for an equaliser, the home side clinched victory with an 86th-minute strike from Marcus Richardson.
