Bristol Under-18 Combination: Imperial Saints meted out a harsh lesson to Division I newcomers St George Easton in Gordano by thrashing them 10-1.

Mitch Purnell and Sam Downes both scored twice to give Imperial a 4-0 half-time lead and six more goals followed in the second period as Saints' heads dropped.

Purnell and Downes completed their hat-tricks, while Mike Rimmer, Bradley Frampton, Jordan Mall and Billy Downes were also on target.

Mangotsfield United were made to fight hard for their 2-0 victory over visitors Ingleside in their opening Division A encounter.

Tom Smyth gave them a first-half lead after a goalmouth scramble but only a penalty save by man-of-the-match keeper Jason Criddle, diving to his left, preserved their advantage. Dan Turner finally put daylight between the teams, running through to round the keeper and make it 2-0.

Matt Smith fired a second-half equaliser for Olveston United against Hawkesbury YFC but they still tumbled to a disappointing 3-1 home defeat.

Southside made a good start to their Gloucestershire Division campaign, beating St Nicholas 4-2. Goals from Harlie Price, Seb O'Connor (2) and Sam Wilson saw Southside surge into a 4-0 half-time lead before Saints staged a second-half riposte to set up an exciting finish.
