PEOPLE who use a centre set up to support those with disabilities have the chance to have their say on how it could be saved.

The Vassall Centre in Fishponds rents space to disabled groups but after more than 14 years it was announced in September that it would not be able to continue running it in its current form much longer. After listening to the people who use the centre the Vassall Trust now wants feedback from users and other interested parties about how it might be able to rescue it in whole or part. It is also seeking potential bidders who might be interested in running the centre in the future.

A meeting is being held in the David Baker Conference Room at the Vassall Centre today from 2pm until 4pm for people to have their say.

Chief executive Andy Rickell said: "All ideas are very welcome, and we are particularly interested in ideas that can be made to work financially, as these will be the ones which can save the centre."
