Goalkeeper Ian Cross was the toast of Downs League outfit Ashley after saving a penalty in the 3-0 home win against Miners Rangers, of the District League, in the second round of the GFA Junior Cup.

Dan Scoins netted the opener with a spot-kick and Kevin Ashley later struck twice.

Matt Price grabbed the only goal for Filton Athletic, 1-0 victors at Seymour United.

Matthew Grimes cracked a hat-trick in a 7-2 romp by Brislington Cricketers away to Ashton Rangers, who hit back through Chris Kilbane and an own goal.

Also on the scoresheet for the Cricketers were Joe Westcott (2), Matthew Bates and James Tokley.

Chipping Sodbury Reserves beat Torpedo 2-1 at home thanks to Richard Gardiner and Scott Gibson.

Nick Brumpton netted a consolation for Bendix in a 5-1 defeat at Old Sodbury, whose goals were shared by Bradley Lennard (2), Nick Warburton (2) and Chris Randell.

Made For Ever presented Longwell Green A with an own goal before scraping home 2-1 thanks to Rhys Pullin and Michael Tucker, while strikes by Josh Morgan, Darren Brown and Mike Barton gave Sea Mills Park a 3-2 success at Saints OB.

Adam Walters replied for Hambrook in a 4-1 home defeat by Nicholas Wanderers A, for whom Jason Radford (2), Lee Rose and James Hatcliff were on target.

Danny Copeland scored both goals for Shirehampton Reserves, who won 5-3 on penalties against Avonmouth Reserves after the teams had been locked at 2-2 at the end of extra-time.

Richard Grinter (3) and Giovanni Fisher fired Hanham Reserves to a 4-1 victory over Ingleside.
