Huxley nets twice as Cadbury Heath are comfortable derby victors

BRISLINGTON and Cadbury Heath put some daylight between themselves and the chasing pack with important victories in the Premier Division.

Third-placed Bishop Sutton went down 2-1 at Ilfracombe, while Heath triumphed 3-0 at fourth-placed Hallen and Brislington beat Winterbourne 3-1.

Frank Gingell struck a double for the league leaders, while the hosts' other goal came from Matt Knapman.

Heath's victory was earned thanks to a Matt Huxley brace, with Nick Dyer also on target for the visitors. At Ilfracombe, Sutton's Billy Downes scored on the hour to cancel out Steve Holland's first-half opener, but the Devon side triumphed courtesy of a late winner from Shaun Copp.

Street, in fifth place, also lost ground after being held to a 4-4 draw at Bridport, but Larkhall Athletic edged closer to the leading bunch with a 3-1 success at home to Wells City.

Ben Crew scored the only goal of the game after 18 minutes as Longwell Green gained a 1-0 home victory over Bristol Manor Farm.

Elsewhere, Buckland caned Radstock Town 9-2, Willand won 1-0 at Odd Down and Melksham Town overcame bottom club Barnstaple 3-0.

In the First Division, Hengrove triumphed 3-0 at home to Keynsham with goals from Ricky Briggs, Mark Fear and Scott Lucas.

With second-placed Chard not in action, Calne, in third, made up ground with a 3-2 victory at Cheddar, while Cribbs were held to a 2-2 draw at Sherborne.

Marc Caines netted an early opener for the Dorset side, but second-half goals from Mitch Kavanagh and Scott Burnell turned things around before Steve Burton's late leveller.

Corsham Town beat fellow promotion-hopefuls Shepton Mallet 1-0, while Portishead triumphed 1-0 over Warminster courtesy of James Clarke's second-half winner.

The score was also 1-0 at Roman Glass St George, where Shaun Percival's tenth-minute goal gave visiting Bradford all three points.

Almondsbury UWE emerged with a 3-2 victory in their Bristol derby at Oldland Abbotonians, while all the action came late on as Welton drew 1-1 with bottom-of-the-table Shrewton.

The visitors looked to have snatched victory when Matt Pospischil struck five minutes from time, but an injury-time own-goal by Ollie Hoare saved Welton.

Westbury leapfrogged Elmore in the table with a 4-1 home victory over the Devon side, while Devizes Town beat Wellington 5-1 to exchange places just above the basement position.
