Hunt for race abuse youths who attacked Asian men
Two Asian men were attacked as they played a game of cricket in Patchway.
As they played on the field at the Patchway Common Pavilion at about 8.30pm on Wednesday they were approached by two white teenagers who took their tennis ball and demanded £10 for its return.
"When they were told to keep it, one of the youths threw the ball at the neck of one of the victims," said Avon and Somerset police spokeswoman Catherine Foster. "The second victim was also pushed to the ground.
"The offenders then shouted racist abuse before running off towards the Bradley Stoke pub."
The first offender was described as 16 to 17 years old, 5ft 10in and slim. He had light-brown, medium-length hair and was wearing a grey hoodie, blue baseball cap and dark track-suit bottoms.
The second was also said to be 16 to 17, 5ft 8in and of medium build. He had light-brown cropped hair and was clean-shaven. He was wearing a white T-shirt with black letters on the front and black, sports-type trousers.
Witnesses can call Staple Hill police on 0845 4567000 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
