Experienced timed and observation trial specialist Gary Hudson clashes with younger stars Paul Baber, Tom Smith, Peter King and Jason Hamblin in the BSSA's two-hour battle against the clock, and the Mendip terrain at Beaconsfield Farm, West Harptree, on Sunday.

A full line-up of 50 riders is expected to be in action for the coveted Brian Hudson Memorial Trophy, including Ben Hudson – the grandson of Brian and son of Gary.

Andrew Hockey, Andy Scudamore, Stuart Bowden and Paul Manning will also be in action.

With 4x4 vehicles using the site, the going will be tough and the onus will be on a rider's pit staff to replenish his fuel supply and get him back on the circuit in as little time as possible.

Grass racers Tim Nobes and Charlie Saunders, who both regularly win races in events in the Bristol area and Wiltshire, face their biggest challenge of the year in the British Masters final at Blackwater, near Truro, on Sunday.

Jason Handley will be defending his solo title against the cream of the UK's leading aces, including Paul Hurry, Mitch Godden, Tom Perry, Darren Pugh, Daniel Winterton and Matt Etherington, who starred in last weekend's Swindon Club meeting at Dauntsey.

Every leading sidecar crew in the country will be in action in the sidecar event at the Twyarnhale venue, just off the A30.

Local crews Myles Simmons, Jamie Brea and Richard Thomas will be taking on distinguished visitors Rob Bradley, Rob Wilson, Paul Whitelam and Graham Jackson and partners in a bid for glory.

The British Classic Bike Motocross Championships will also be decided in Berkshire on Sunday at Bennetts Hill, Ameys Copse, Theale.

Andy Roberton and Carl Pope can both still win the title. The two rivals go into the last two races separated by just two points.

David Bell, from Clutton, who lies fourth in the chase, and Tim Dallaway, Tim Manton and Robin Staples are also expected to shine in the meeting, which is being run by the Mortimer club.
