Hotel serves up Christmas dinner-flavoured ice cream
First it was deep-fried Mars bars, and now someone has invented a Christmas dinner-flavoured ice cream.
It has been made by Snugbury's ice cream makers, of Nantwich, for Best Western hotels and the firm is trying it out at Henbury Lodge in Henbury.
Restaurant manager Dave Doughty was the first to taste test the ice cream, which contains turkey, potatoes, cranberry sauce, Brussels sprouts, peas, and sage and onion stuffing flavours in a vanilla base.
He said: "It's like Marmite – you either love it or you hate it. I like it. I was privileged to have a tub as soon as it arrived and I took it home for supper."
Eight of the hotel's guests tried it. Four liked it and four didn't.
It might make a change from a traditional Christmas pudding.
