Hot-shot Lovell delivers a first-class start for Post Office Sports

WESSEX SUNDAY LEAGUE: Post Office Sports made a dream start to the new Senior Division season with an emphatic 6-2 home win over Coalpit Shaft.

Dale Lovell took the scoring honours with a hat-trick, while James Batchelor. netted twice. Luke Bartley scored both goals for Shaft.

The only other game in the Senior Division saw SCS Sunday win 3-2 at UWE Dynamos thanks to Terry Caswell, Ben Fry and Jonathan Kilpatrick. Team Jansen lead Division I after winning 6-2 at Sartan United with goals from Robert Dumphy (2) and George Brimble, Ben Crewe, James Dunn and Bill Luton

Golden Lion Fishponds romped to an impressive 9-5 victory at Quality Finish thanks to Kieron Kelly, Shaun Kelly, Thomas Kelly, Blake Rodgers and Stephen Tunbridge.

Division II newcomers Long Ashton kicked off with a 10-0 win over South Bristol United, Christopher Cowell leading the way with six goals.

Fellow new boys SWYD United won 9-2 at Zimba with Matthew Long scoring four times, while a Matt Squires hat-trick helped Royal Oak Nailsea win 4-3 at Rhubarb Tavern.
