Manager Lee Lashenko says Bishop Sutton are prepared to pay the price for "progress" as he faces a future without his top young talents.

Bristol City and Southampton are among a clutch of professional clubs monitoring the emergence of 17-year- old defenders Mike Rimmer and Sam Teale, as well as winger George Saunders.

Lashenko, whose side go to Barnstaple tomorrow keen to continue their improved form, insists the time is ripe to thrust them and more of his fledglings into the fray.

"The cost of progress – and there's been a lot of progress here – is that you attract talented young players and face the prospect of losing them to bigger clubs," he said.

"These are exciting times at Bishop Sutton and we have people involved who are not prepared to simply stand still."

Andrew Catley makes a timely return to the Welton Rovers midfield in the absence of suspended skipper Dean Evans as they bid for a fifth straight league victory at home to fast-improving Hallen, who welcome midfielder Tony Green back from an injury lay-off.

Youth-team star Kyle O'Donovan is eyeing a debut for Bristol Manor Farm, who can cut the gap at the top to six points with a home victory over leaders Larkhall Athletic.

With Jordan Hazell, Kyle Thomas and Matt Thorne absent, attacking midfielder O'Donovan could win an opportunity. Farm boss John Black said: "Kyle has done well and he deserves a chance."

Farm were unfortunate to claim only a point from their 1-1 midweek stalemate with a Bitton side whose boss Andy Black delivered a dressing down to his players after the game.

"They knew they didn't perform well but it was a useful point nevertheless, especially after a great win at Larkhall on Saturday," said the Bitton chief.

Bitton hope to have striker Michael Meaker back from injury for the trip to Calne.

Longwell Green Sports are set to sign Oldland's second-string keeper Lionel Fear as back-up to Mark Britton as they seek to extend their unbeaten league and cup run to eight with a home win over Wellington.

Mark Summers returns from suspension to a Sports side boasting the best defensive record in the division, with only 10 goals shipped. Youngsters Matt Dark and Tom Morgan maintain their places in the squad.

Brislington's frustrated manager, Jeff Meacham, recalls Kevin Rawlings to the heart of his midfield for the visit to Corsham Town in an attempt to kick-start their campaign. A series of poor results has left Bris stranded sixth from bottom of the table.

Meacham, who will hand Jason Hughes a central defensive berth after illness, said: "The goals have dried up and I'm hopeful Kevin will add a bit of bite."
