Horse freed from ditch by fire crews in Lympsham
Firefighters rescued a horse stuck in a water-filled ditch near Weston-super-Mare this afternoon.
Three crews were sent to the stricken animal in West Road, Lympsham, at 1.40pm.

They began by removing hedgerow around the horse before the arrival of specialist animal rescue equipment.
The firefighters, from Burnham on Sea, Weston, and Bath, donned dry suits to attach flotation devices, strops and lines to pull it to safety.
