Homes in Pilning and Severn Beach are left without electricity
On Sunday morning most residents in Pilning and Severn Beach woke up to no electricity because of a power outage caused by poor weather overnight on Saturday. Most of the homes in the area were left without electricity for just over eight hours whilst technicians worked to restore power.
Local resident Kerry Lock from Severn Beach said "I woke up at 8am and noticed a low glow coming from the lights, I tried to put the tv on but it would not power up"
It was really strange as some items around the house would work yet others wouldn't, my electric finally came back on just after 2pm on Sunday."
Even the local news agents was left without power for most of Sunday however they remained open with only minor disruption caused.

Electricity supplies were not the only supplies disrupted as a result of the weather in Pilning, Telecommunications provider BT were called out to store services on Cross Hands Road in Pilning when one of their inspection pits became flooded.
Engineers worked for a number of hours to drain and restore telephone and internet services for the local residents.
48 year old Stephen Dyre said "I can't understand how the water companies can continue to impose water restrictions due to a drought"
All I have seen on the news is areas being flooded due to massive amounts of rainfall"
