Police are warning homeowners to be extra vigilant during the warm weather following a break-in in Clevedon.

An opportunist thief took cash after entering the back of a house at Ladye Bay on Sunday afternoon while the homeowner was enjoying the sunshine in the front garden.

Police are warning people to make sure their home is secure if they are out in the garden.

A police spokesman said: "We would urge people to make sure the rear of their properties is secure if they are sitting in the front garden and vice versa."
