British sidecar trial champions John Tuck and Matt Sparks, from Compton Greenfield, defend a slender lead going into the fifth round of the series at Backwell Hill, near Lulsgate, on Sunday.

The BSSA organised event which will be decided over a single lap of 38 sections in Scarrs and Filers Wood.

Championship class contenders feature previous round winners Kevin Nolan and David Dale and past champions Robin and Gillian Morewood and Robin and Sam Luscombe.

Local crews in action in the clubman class include Phil Sparks and Roger Tuck and Dave Tuck and Steve Chandler.

Several sprint stars from the Isle of Man are competing in the NSA's Championship Twin Lane meetings at Westonzoyland tomorrow and Sunday.

With John Young, Ed Turner, Dave Joyce and Henry Body in the line-up, the vintage class events will be equally competitive.

Saturday: NSA quarter mile championship sprint meeting, Westonzoyland near Bridgwater (12 Noon).

Sunday: Otter Vale MCC Easton Motors Cup trial, Spilcombe Woods near Honiton (11am).

BSSA (Wessex) British Sidecar trial championship round, Scarrs Wood, Backwell Hill near Lulsgate (10am).

NSA quarter-mile championship sprint meeting, Westonzoyland near Bridgwater (12 Noon).

South West Devon MCC ORPA motocross meeting, Farleigh Farm, Moreleigh, near Totnes (10.30am).

Swindon MCC long distance trial, The Black Horse Inn, Upper Wanborough near Swindon (9am).
