H ead for Bath if you want to catch a glimpse of some work that's attracting big-money attention.

Dan Baldwin is the name to look for at the Rostra & Rooksmoor Galleries' new exhibition, I Love Art.

"Dan is a highly collectible young British artist," says the gallery. "Most recently one of his decorated vases reached £22,000 at auction.

"His work has a sinister yet beautiful feel to it – dealing with topics such as life and death, innocence, beauty, decay and symbolism."

Dan's work has global appeal and he has exhibited alongside artists such as Bristol's own Banksy and Peter Blake.

Based in West Sussex, his work has recently begun to incorporate screen printing alongside the layering of household paints and spray paint.

The artist has also enjoyed some TV fame. He was selected as one of five artists in an episode during the first series of BBC2's The Apprentice, and found himself dubbed one of the top five artists in the country by Sir Alan Sugar.

The I Love Art show also features artists Rebecca Coles, Helen Musselwhite, Trevor Price, Mychael Barratt and Paul Smith.

Rebecca Coles' work is a true labour of love. She takes paper that has been discarded and reshapes it into delicate silhouettes. Also working with paper, Helen Musselwhite uses bold colour and strong graphic lines to create visually appealing pieces of art.

Trevor Price is an acclaimed artist/printmaker whose subject matter stems from his own life, from the intimacy between couples to the normal obsessions of any man.

Mychael Barratt's images capture your imagination by lifting famous scenes and characters. The artist draws inspiration from sources as diverse as fairytales and Shakespearean dramas to paintings by Great Masters and 1960's pop culture.

Finally, artist Paul Smith will be presenting his hand-built ceramic sculptures. These unique pieces of work focus on the theme of fairytales and fables, but with a twist.
