Henleaze swimmers take the gala glory

Bristol Henleaze Swimming Club travelled to Littledown (Bournemouth) for the National Swimming League Division I B final and won the eight-team gala.

The club bagged 16 first places, nine of which came in individual events. Olivier Eyre gained four victories, while the other winners were Rebecca Guy (2), Abi Bowring, Millie Marshall and Steve Longland.

There were wins in the both freestyle and medley relays for the 11-year boys team of Barnaby Forrester, Mortimer Forrester, Daniel Greaves and Zachary Gillett.

There was freestyle success for the 15-year girls team of Megan McLernon, Jess Bowring, Katie McLernon and Rebecca Allen, and for the medley team of Katie McLernon, Rebecca Allen, Millie Marshall and Megan McLernon.

The men's open (freestyle) team of Luke Porter, Guy Pearce, Oliver Eyre, Tom Probert, Ashley St Leger and Steve Longland were also victorious.

So, too, were the medley team of Steve Longland, Luke Porter, Ashley St Leger and Tom Probert, and the boys 15-year freestyle relay team of Eddy Wragg, Chris Woodman, Guy Pearce and Oliver Eyre.
