The cash will help pay for much-needed gardening tools, gloves and seeds, allowing the club to expand.

Sylvie Jones, the club's leader, said: “At Henleaze Junior School we like to get our hands dirty! Our outdoor space is a valuable learning resource and we are keen to use it as much as possible.

“Our gardening club does a fantastic job growing plants and flowers and Year 3 keep the vegetable patch stocked with salads and vegetables. We are delighted with this support from Wessex Water. What an encouraging way to start the New Year.”

The Watermark Award provides funds for environmental projects within the Wessex Water area. Now in its twentieth year, it has supported over 800 environmental initiatives.

Organised by The Conservation Foundation, all projects are judged by a panel chaired by its president David Bellamy.
