Gloucestershire County League round-up: Henbury inflicted a first defeat since January on Slimbridge, winning 2-0.

Henbury looked the better side throughout and took the game to Slimbridge right from the outset.

A free-kick from Shane Hobbs on 10 minutes was well saved by the visitors' keeper, Andrew Radford, who had to be at his best as the home side continuously pushed forward.

On 20 minutes a cross from Adam Rosser looked as though it had deceived Radford but the ball landed on the roof of the net.

Hobbs then created space for a shot from the edge of the box but it went just wide. However, the opener soon followed as Hobbs picked up the ball on the right, rounded defender James Inch and fired past Radford.

Henbury's Eddie Howells was unlucky with a shot that just went wide of an upright and youngster George Watts blasted over from six yards.

Slimbridge started the second half more confidently and the Henbury defence had to be resolute. The visitors should have equalised in the 52nd minute when Jamie Martin was clear on goal, but Mark Winkler pulled off a tremendous save.

After Henbury had weathered the storm, they broke, with Aaron Wilson's shot well saved by Radford and the rebound falling to Hobbs, who saw his effort saved.

The second goal arrived with four minutes remaining, when a break down the right saw Howells' angled shot fly past the visitors' keeper.

John Adams sent Patchway Town into a 1- 0 lead against fellow strugglers Hanham Athletic at Scott Park and Patchway doubled their advantage when a corner from Marlon Francis was headed into is own net by Mark Pocock. Pocock went some way to making amends by netting a late consolation goal.

DRG Stapleton picked up a valuable point from a 2-2 draw at Kings Stanley. The visitors took the lead in the seventh minute, when Clinton Wilson scored from close range.

The home side drew level when Tony Francis netted from the penalty spot, and they took the lead through a Nick Rieger free-kick.

DRG salvaged a point right at the death when Stanley were caught pushing forward and a break down the right saw the ball squared into the box for Wilson to drive home his second of the afternoon.

Axa were beaten for the second week running, going down 2-1 at home to Bishop's Cleeve Reserves.

The home side opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Andy Sledge's cross was headed home by Steve Watts.

Bishop's Cleeve drew level 10 minutes later when Jamie Hammond slotted home from eight yards, and they grabbed the winner in the 55th minute, when Dan Harvey's shot went through a crowded box into the Axa net.

Chipping Sodbury Town drew 2-2 at Thornbury Town. The home side opened the scoring after 15 minutes through Steve Rice and Sodbury drew level from a Lloyd Harding penalty.

Mike Usher put Thornbury back in front but Sodbury hit back in time added on through Paul Harris.

B&W Avonside fought back from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Taverners, Mark Linton grabbing the winner with 10 minutes left to play.
