A chip pan left unattended caused a fire in a flat on Standfast Road.

Fire crews were called to the 11th floor flat at 6.45pm on Monday and extinguished the blaze.

The occupants of the flat, two men in their 50s, did not need hospital treatment but Avon Fire and Rescue appealed to people to be careful over Christmas and not to leave any cooking unattended.
