Henbury bounce back with home win

Henbury bounced back from defeat last week with a 4-1 home win over Chipping Sodbury Town.

Sodbury took the lead after 10 minutes through Paul Harris, but five minutes later George Watts levelled.

Ashley Lock put Henbury in the lead on 50 minutes before Watts grabbed a second and Craig Hobbs sealed the game late on.

Axa dropped two points at home to B & W Avonside in a very exciting 3-3 draw.

Mike Morris opened the scoring for the visitors, but Axa levelled with a Steve Watts header.

Just before the break, Ryan McKillop gave the home side a 2-1 lead, but the visitors levelled in the second half when Axa's Chris Marsh put through his own goal.

B & W went into the lead courtesy of Kye Simpson, but Axa saved a point when Watts popped up with his second.

Hanham Athletic went down 3-1 at home to Highridge United, with Mickey Adams getting the opener for Highridge after 20 minutes.

Adams then scored again on 52 minutes and Craig Liddell made it 3-0 on the hour.

Jamie Mitchell netted a consolation goal for the home side with 10 minutes to play.

The match betweenTaverners and DRG Stapleton ended goalless.

In the Les James League Cup, Yate Town Reserves went through to the semi-finals after beating Thornbury Town with a very late goal from Justin Cattle.

Yate were the better side in the second half and struck the crossbar twice, while Thornbury goalkeeper Sam Curry pulled off several good saves to keep his side in the game.
