Help us stage Nailsea's Victorian fair
An appeal for help to stage this year's Nailsea Victorian Street Fayre has been launched.
Councillor Anne Kemp is organising the annual festive extravaganza, which takes place in the town on the first Friday of December.
But the event is in desperate need of volunteers and organisers are appealing to members of the community to come forward and help.
Mrs Kemp said: "The fair is an excellent event for the whole community and attracts large numbers of people to the town. We want to make sure this year's fair goes ahead with a swing and are looking for people to join us and help organise it.
"It may be that people can help in the planning stages or may be able to offer some help on the night, either assisting to set up stalls or manning the road closure."
Mrs Kemp is also hoping to attract new events to this year's fair and has already contacted bosses at the famous Carters Steam Fair to see if it would be interested in joining the event.
Traders are also being urged to open their shops late into the evening and dress in Victorian costume.
The event has been running in the town for nearly 20 years. The Jimmy Rogers fairground also sets up in the Clevedon Road car park for young revellers to enjoy.
Anyone wanting to volunteer at the fair or anyone who has suggestions for events should contact Mrs Kemp on 01275 857210.
