Headley Park to represent Bristol City in npower under-11 Kids Cup

The npower Football League season may be entering the final strait, but for one local team the road to Wembley Stadium is just about to begin.

Headley Park from Bristol fought its way through local play-offs to earn the right to represent Championship club Bristol City in the npower Football League Under-11 Kids Cup.

Having won the right to represent the Robins,Headley Park will now play against rival schools from the region in a bid to reach the grand final at Wembley.

The Bristol-based team will contest the regional final at Leicester this week and, if successful, wil go through to the final on May 27.

This will be played before the Championship play-off final.

Sponsored by npower, the npower Football League Kids Cup is a nationwide six-a-side tournament for Under-11 school children.

The competition culminates in three grand finals, one for each division, across the npower Football League Play-Off weekend in May.

The 11/12 season saw more than 2,000 schools take part in the two competitions with schools representing Leicester City, Brentford and Bristol Rovers being crowned champions of the Championship, League 1 and League 2 Kids Cup finals respectively.
