AN argument over noise led to a Withywood man headbutting his neighbour with such force that he fell and fractured his skull.
John Waddell lunged at Gary Enters when Mr Enters told him to keep the noise down, Bristol Crown Court heard.

Jailing him for 16 months, Judge David Ticehurst told him: "You pleaded guilty to a serious offence of violence."
Richard Posner, prosecuting, said another of Waddell's neighbours heard shouting and screaming before a "massive thump" and then banging on her door.
The court heard Waddell had come to her flat, saying Mr Enters had hit him first and now Enters was unconscious.
Waddell told police who arrived at the scene he had "just lost it", Mr Posner said.
Mr Enters had no recollection of what happened.
Waddell pleaded guilty on the basis he was frustrated trying to access the door to his flat, Mr Enters told him to be quiet and his response was excessive.
Brendon Moorhouse, defending, said his client suffered from issues with drug abuse and psychotic problems.
Mr Moorhouse said: "He couldn't find his door keys. Mr Enters remonstrated with him for being noisy and events unfolded.
"The blow was of sufficient force to knock the victim to the ground. It was clearly excessive force.
"There was no intention to cause the very high level of injury that was caused."
Mr Moorhouse said his client was worried about his possessions if he was away from home.
He told the court: "It shows the state of mind of the man. He will continue to undergo treatment in the community when he is released."
The court heard Waddell's previous offences included convictions for causing criminal damage, and loss of temper was a prevalent factor.
