Longwell Green Under-15s started their season on a high with a super 6-2 away victory over 10-girl Ashton.

Kelly Preston's early double saw Longwell race into a comfortable lead, and after Ashton had replied with a long-range effort, Michaela Whooley struck to regain Green their two-goal advantage.

When the hosts pulled another one back through an own goal to make it 3-2, it looked as though it might be one of those days for Longwell, but they came out strongly in the second half to forge well clear through Amy Hardy's hat-trick and win by a healthy margin.

Last year's top two clashed in an early season game as AEK Boco Under-15s ran out 3-0 winners over Bristol Ladies Union. Dani Shiner, Jasmine Rodgers and Charlie Brankin were the Boco scorers.

Keynsham Town Under-13s fought all the way in their encounter against Bristol Ladies Union team, with Vicky Powell scoring a deserved consolation and Becky Sheppard producing numerous impressive saves.

But despite the determination of their player-of-the-match Fayth Mealing, Town found themselves on the receiving end of a 9-1 defeat at the hands of a good Union outfit.

Abigail Britt (2) and Lucie Henderson handed AEK Boco Under-13s a hard-fought 3-2 win over Bitton.

Molly Roberts hit four goals as AEK Boco Under-12s defeated Southmead 5-1, Bridie Isles netting the other one for the winners.

Bristol Ladies Union A Under-11s fought back from a goal down to score twice in the final ten minutes and seal an impressive 2-1 away win against Frampton Rangers.

Goals from midfield dynamo Briony Wills and striker Lizzie Burton, who finally found the net after being put through by a great Ellie Courtiour pass, saw Union to a narrow victory, aided by solid defending from Aoife Smith and Adie Bailey-Douglas plus good contributions from Anna Hubble, Rosanna Boxall and Eloise Quinlan.

Player-of-the-match Rosie Collings was superb in the Portishead Juniors Under-11s defence in their hard-fought 1-1 draw with Longwell Green.

They opened the scoring after 20 minutes following a fine passing move involving Rhea Hall and Emily Smith, which was expertly finished off by Eloise Hubbard.

Kyla Probert produced a strong performance in midfield linking up with Chelsea Hill, and Izzy Batchelor looked determined to add to the scoring before Longwell Green equalised in the second half.

Resolute defending by Alys Withers and Phoebe Williams ensured there was little more to trouble Portishead keeper Aimee Morgan as Longwell threatened a winner.

Hariye Beydilli, Rosie Williams, Ellie Todd and Paige Botta all enjoyed terrific games at the back for Frampton Rangers Under-11s, who were unfortunate to go down to a single goal against a good Boco team.

Maddison Buss, Annie Lewis, Lauren Penny, Connie Lanham, Chloe Fuller and Chloe Bragg did their best to orchestrate openings for Frampton but it wasn't to be their day.

St Nicholas Under-10s had to scrap all the way to steal a 2-1 away victory against a gritty Hutton side who never game up. All the goals came in the first half, through Amber Channelle's first goal for Saints, a well-struck shot from outside the area, and Katie Hudson's cool finish after Caitlyn Preston's excellent long throw had found her loitering inside the box.
