With all the furore over data loss in the past 12 months you would have thought councils would have taken note of the risks.

But Wiltshire County Council has managed to lose a data stick containing bank details of more than 1,300 people.

Despite looking "very hard for it" they were unable to find the stick.

We can only hope that the new super council for the county will not experience similar lapses.
