MK Dons 1 Swindon Town 2

Town striker Simon Cox converted a last-gasp

penalty to end Town’s three-game losing streak with a win at MK

Dons this afternoon.

Cox sent goalkeeper Willy Gueret the wrong

way from the spot in the 90th minute after Craig Easton

had been hauled down in the box by Peter

Leven.

Billy Paynter had earlier put Town in

front with a neat side-footed finish in the 53rd minute after

Simon Cox robbed former Town defender Sean O’Hanlon to cross

the ball invitingly across the face of goal.

Dons replied in the 65th minute when

Jude Stirling capitalised on poor Town defending at a corner

but Maurice Malpas side were fully deserving of their win after

a disciplined performance that frustrated the MK Dons for long

periods of the game.
