Half-time: Bristol Rovers 1, Burton Albion 0
Mustapha Carayol marked his recall to the Bristol Rovers side with the goal which gave the Pirates an interval lead in their clash with Burton Albion at the Memorial Stadium.
Four minutes before the break, he unleashed a right-foot shot which swerved viciously on its way towards goal – and Brewers' keeper Ross Atkins made a hash of his attempt to save it, diverting it into his own net.
Pirates boss Mark McGhee made three changes to the side that had started at Crewe five days earlier.
Left-back Jim Paterson returned after illness, with Andy Dorman recalled in midfield – and playmaker Carayol back after a hamstring injury.

There was a place on the bench for Wayne Brown, who had been out of contention since October with a stress fracture to his ankle.
Rovers created an early chance when skipper Matt Gill took a return pass from Eliot Richards but shot over the top from 16 yards – and Burton threatened moments later when Calvin Zola's downward header beyond the far post struck Danny Woodards and bounced away from goal.
Then Dorman found Richards in a good position, but the young striker's attempt to curl home a shot from the edge of the box was weak and keeper Ross Atkins made a comfortable save.
Carayol, who had started the game on the right wing, was briefly pushed up front alongside Harrold and started to have more of an influence on proceedings.
A lighting burst down the right produced a dangerous cross which was only half-cleared, but Paterson could not get a shot away when the ball broke towards him.
Then a quick, diagonal run infield saw space open up in front of him, but he could not get his shot from 20 yards on target.
Midway through the opening period, Matt Harrold let fly with a fierce 25-yarder which flashed narrowly wide of Atkins' right-hand post.
There was a flurry of chances as the interval approached. First, Richards nodded the ball down to Gill, who saw Atkins get his body in the way of his shot.
Then Cian Bolger let a ball run which he should have dealt with and with keeper Scott Bevan stranded, Jimmy Phillips should have put the visitors in front – only to hit the post with his shot.
Carayol's strike – his sixth of the season – came moments later and gave the home side the boost they needed just before half-time.
