Half a century since it closed
HAVING opened in 1939 RAF Bridgnorth served the training needs of the RAF until closure in February 1963. Ideas are now being sought as to how in 2013 we could commemorate the 50th anniversary of the closure. So far, consensus seems to favour a parade through the town. The preferred date would be Saturday June 1, the date before the annual NASRAF parade at nearby Cosford. An opportunity exists to express your opinion on how the anniversary should be commemorated. This may be the last opportunity for sufficient numbers to meet and remember their time at Bridgnorth.
