Tributes paid to teenage crash victim Hannah Rosher

THE parents of a Bristol teenager who died in a car crash have paid tribute to their "bright and shining star".

Hannah Rosher was driving in the Wye Valley when her silver Vauxhall Corsa hit a tree at 8.15am on Saturday.

The 18-year-old, from South Bristol, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Yesterday Hannah's parents, Steve and Sally Rosher, paid tribute to their daughter on behalf of her family.

They said: "Hannah exuded all that is good in life.

"She was a bright and shining star who was a magnet to all around her.

"Anyone who was privileged enough to have her touch their life in some way will know how badly missed she will be. She was a bubbly, feisty, vivacious and beautiful girl who only ever saw the good in people. Anyone who knew her loved her.

"There are no words to describe the pain felt not only by her Mum and Dad and two brothers, whose lives will never be the same, but also by her extended family and many, many special friends.

"We are all proud and blessed to have had her in our lives, albeit only for a short time."

Friends paid tribute to Hannah on social messaging site Twitter, with many saying that they could not believe she was gone.

Becky Brain posted: "Love you Rosh, forever loved and missed."

Another friend, Holly Long, said: "Never gonna believe it's true, gonna miss you so much".

Another tribute was paid from the Twitter account @kati_michalak, saying: "RIP Hannah Rosher, another angel we won't see around Broomhill anymore, thoughts are with her mum and family".

Hannah's friends also posted pictures of flowers and candles spelling out Hannah's initials, as well as pictures of a group of friends releasing balloons in her memory.

A Facebook group called Rest In Peace Hannah Rosher was also set up yesterday in the teenager's memory.

One of Hannah's last posts on Twitter, on December 20, paid tribute to her grandad. She wrote: "So much time for my grandad and his stories about his childhood, makes you notice how much we take for granted."

People also left messages of condolence to Hannah's family on The Post's website, www.thisisbristol.co.uk, last night.

Readers Chris and Mike Hutchins wrote: "Condolences to Sally and family on the loss of their beautiful Hannah."

Another reader, Lesley Bird, said: "Condolences to Sally and family on the loss of their daughter Hannah – thinking of you all at this very sad time."

Gloucestershire Police said no other vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened on the A466 Chepstow to Monmouth road between Redbrook and Llandogo. The case has been handed to the coroner.

Witnesses who have not come forward should call Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident 85 of January 5.
