Gurt Lush Mikado "biggest ever"
THE Gurt Lush Choir will perform a full version of Gilbert and Sullivan's Mikado at the Colston Hall with an ambitious 250 singers.
The production, which is being staged in collaboration with the Bristol Schools Philharmonia, Opera Anywhere and singers from local schools, will provide a rare opportunity for Bristol's biggest community choir to perform alongside professional opera singers.

With a full orchestra made up of talented young musicians from across the city, it will also be the first time that the choir has performed with accompaniment, providing a marked contrast to its usual repertoire.
With around 250 singers making up the opera's chorus, and 60 young people inthe orchestra, it is being billed as the "biggest Mikado ever".

The concert takes place on Saturday, February 2, at the Colston Hall, 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £15 or £10, with under 18s free, are available from the Colston Hall website, www.colstonhall.org, and box office on 0117 922 3686. All proceeds from the concert will go to St Peter's Hospice.
