Hereford United could be without goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi for today's League One clash against Hartlepool United at the Victoria Ground.

Gulacsi injured his knee in training earlier in the week and could miss his first game since joining the Bulls on loan from Liverpool.

If Gulacsi is not available Jose Veiga will be making his debut in the Football League.

Veiga joined Hereford on non-contract forms at he start of the year and has been on the substitute's bench for the last 17 games.

Veiga, 32, previously played for Tamworth but most of his career has been spent in the Spanish lower leagues.

Darren Dennehy is also doubtful as he has gone down with an ear and throat infection.

Hereford have also ruled out central defender Dean Beckwith and midfielder Sam Hewson for today's crucial match.

Beckwith has failed to recover from a knee injury which forced him off in last week's encounter against Huddersfield Town.

Hewson, who was due to complete his loan spell after today's game, has also returned to Manchester United early to receive treatment for an ankle injury.

Hereford badly need the three points from today's encounter to keep their slender hopes of avoiding relegation alive.

Skipper Karl Broadhurst has told supporters that they will continue to battle despite being 10 points adrift of safety.

"Despite being in a relegation position throughout the season our fans have been very supportive and we owe it to them to give it our best shot" said Broadhurst.

Meanwhile, midfielder Clint Easton has parted company with Hereford after 18 months at Edgar Street.

Easton, who was in the Hereford side that won promotion last season, leaves by mutual consent after making 51 appearances.

Hereford (from): Gulacsi, Veiga, Rose, Diagouraga, Taylor, Brandy, Smith, Guinan, Pugh, Broadhurst, Myrie-Williams, O'Leary, Williams, Jackson, Johnson, Gwynne and Dennehy.
