Guibarra at the double as Brislington get back to winning ways
Brislington manager Jeff Meacham was pleased with his side's second-half performance as they battled back to winning ways, seeing off Calne Town 5-2.
Brislington's eight-match unbeaten run had ended when they lost 2-1 to Melksham Town on Saturday, and a draw looked likely yesterday when the sides were level at 2-2 at the interval.
Meacham said: "We started well and were 2-0 ahead by the 20th minute, but then sat back and allowed Calne back into the game.
"We sorted things out during the interval and came out to take charge of the game in the second half."
Brislington went ahead when a Kye Mountford corner created the opening for defender Lee Jefferies to head in.
Sam Williams and Justin Bishop then combined to release Russ Church, whose cross from the right was headed in by Charlie Rich.
Church missed a chance to add a third before Calne punished some poor defending with two goals before the break.
But Brislington got back on top 10 minutes into the second half, when a Rich free-kick created the chance for Danny Guibarra to score.
Guibarra added a second after being set up by a Church cross, and he was denied a hat-trick when his shot was cleared off the line.
The victory was completed when Mountford set up Church to make it 5-2.
Bristol Manor Farm went down 1-0 at home to local rivals Hallen, after which manager John Black said: "We played well, particularly in the second half, but at present we just cannot score."
Manor Farm's best chance came early in the game, when Ben Hiscox was denied by a fine save by Hallen goalkeeper Steve Scannell.
The only goal came in the 35th minute, when Tony Beacham intercepted a square ball across the Manor Farm defence and smashed a 20-yard shot into the bottom corner of the net.
Bishop Sutton got back to winning ways with a 1-0 victory at Street, thanks to a 29th-minute goal from Adam Tyres, who chipped home after running on to a through-ball from Simon Bone.
The shock result of the day saw Welton Rovers, who beat top-of-the-table Bitton 4-2 on Saturday, go down 4-3 at home to Radstock Town.
Meanwhile, Bideford's hopes of catching Bitton took a knock when they lost 2-0 at Willand Rovers.
In Division One, Longwell Green Sports moved a step nearer to securing promotion as runners-up with a 1-0 victory at Hengrove Athletic.
Simon Warren scored the winner in the 25th minute after good play by Chris Churchill.
Green should have made it 2-0 with 10 minutes left, when Dave Parnell was brought down in the penalty area, but Richard Jenkins' spot-kick was saved.
The victory takes Longwell Green nine points clear of third-placed Bradford Town, and they need four points from their remaining four games to clinch promotion.
Leaders Larkhall Athletic were 2-0 winners at struggling Odd Down, while Oldland Abbotonians and Roman Glass St George battled out a goalless draw.
