Gromit Unleashed: Time running out for artists to apply

THERE are just two more weeks left for artists from Bristol and beyond to submit sculpture designs for consideration by the organisers of Gromit Unleashed.

The project, spearheaded by Bristol’s Aardman Animations, will see 60 giant sculptures of Gromit put on the streets of Bristol for 10m weeks from July 1.

The 5ft structures will individually designed and created by artists selected by the organisers of Gromit Unleashed.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, January 25.

Successful artists will be notified in February and commissioned to paint the Gromit sculptures during April and May, with all sculptures be completed June 3.

An honorarium of £700 may be applied for by each selected artist.

The Wallace and Gromit art trail will remain until September 7 after which they will be auctioned to raise funds for the Wallace and Gromit Appeal -the fundraising charity for Bristol Children’s Hospital.
