​Winterbourne United manager Nick Tanner has confirmed Bruce Grobbelaar's availability for their Gloucestershire FA Trophy tie with Patchway Town on Saturday, December 5 (1.30pm).

Tanner recently contacted his former Liverpool team-mate asking him to keep goal for the game, and to his delight Grobbelaar has not only agreed to partake in the fixture, but he is also to guest as speaker at a post-match bash in the Baileys Court Inn at neighbouring Bradley Stoke.

Tanner quipped: "I'm delighted Bruce will be involved on the day. He still keeps himself in shape with the Liverpool Legends and our young lads won't have experienced anything like him before.

"I need now to chat to the club about how we're going to play the occasion. Hopefully Bruce will attract a few more people to Winterbourne and help get us on the map."

The after-match function is a ticket-only affair, available from the Baileys Court Inn.
