Old Colstonians moved to the top of Gloucester Premier with a gritty 8-3 win away to previous leaders Cirencester, despite having a player sin-binned in each half.

The visitors played into the wind in the first period but still managed to turn around five points ahead thanks to a try from wing James Thorp.

Ciren pulled back a penalty, but George Burrows landed a kick of his own to clinch an outstanding win for the Old Boys, who were under the cosh for long periods and defended with great determination, flankers John Gerrish and Darren Denning both turning in outstanding displays.

A Nick Webster penalty was all Saracens had to show for their efforts in a 7-3 setback at home to Old Richians.

Old Bristolians edged out promotion rivals Painswick 8-5 to remain clear at the top of Gloucester One.

Wing Lyndon Davies, with a try, and flanker Simon Hawkins, with a penalty, scored the points for Old Bristolians.

Bishopston drew 8-8 at home with Cheltenham Civil Service, who landed a penalty two minutes from time to claim a share of the spoils.

Scrum-half Blake Evans darted between two defenders to put Bish in front, while a close-range penalty from Jon Martin extended the lead.

Aretians followed their first success of the season last week at Sodbury with a 20-3 home triumph over Dursley.

Wing Ali Miller and centres Chris Greening and Chris Hill claimed tries. Andy Cockram added a conversion and a penalty.

Gloucester Two leaders Kingswood's game at Cheltenham Saracens was the victim of a waterlogged pitch while Cotham Park's home clash with Greyhound was called off after a fire at the club's Beggar Bush Lane base on Friday evening.

BAC, coached by former Bristol and Connacht winger Darren Yapp, produced their best performance of the season to defeat third-placed St Brendan's 12-8.

The visitors forged eight points clear before centre Brian Parsons pulled BAC back into contention with a try. And stand-off Sam Shepherd's try and conversion in the second half saw the home side to their third win of the campaign.
