Grit pavements but fewer roads
HAVING watched the antics of road users on TV trying to cope (mainly unsuccessfully) with the recent snow fall, might I suggest that road gritting be reduced, except for delivery lorries and bus routes, with a vastly improved programme of pavement gritting instead.
Maybe this would persuade car owners to leave their vehicles home and walk instead – just a thought.
By the way I was a professional driver for nearly 40 years and worked during the winter of 1962/3 and survived several bad winters since then.
