HANHAM moved to within five points of the top of the David Wilson Homes Gloucestershire County League courtesy of a 2-0 away win at fellow high-fliers Kingswood.

Adam Grinter and Mike Saddler scored either side of half-time to give Hanham a victory that lifted them above their opponents in the league standings.

With Tuffley's match at home to DRG Frenchay postponed, Southmead missed the chance to join them at the top of the table as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Bristol Academy.

It needed a Terry Caswell penalty midway through the second period to save a point for Southmead after Tyler Finch-Vassell had given Academy a first-half lead. Henbury needed to take the lead three times before finally seeing off Patchway 3-2, Jack Mills hitting a spectacular winner ten minutes from time.

George Watts saw his opener equalised by James Hicks, before Mills' first goal was levelled-up by Matt Tovey.

Rockleaze thumped Frampton 5-2 despite falling behind to a second-minute opener from the visitors' James Cross. Matt Beadle, Aaron Day's penalty and Jesus Herran Biox gave the hosts a half-time lead, before Carl Lakey added a fourth just short of the hour mark.

Zak Tyers soon pulled a goal back for Frampton, but Shane Budding quickly restored the three-goal lead for Rockleaze.

Fast-starting Thornbury edged-out Bishop's Cleeve Reserves 3-2, Steve Alexander giving the hosts a two-goal lead inside ten minutes.

Declan Chick replied for Cleeve, but Steve Thompson restored the two-goal advantage just prior to half-time, so Ben Robinson's late second for the visitors mattered little.

The derby between Chipping Sodbury and Yate Reserves ended 2-2 with the visitors twice coming from behind. Justin Cattle put Sodbury ahead, a Ricky Hemmings own goal levelled matters, Craig Davidge restored the hosts' lead, but Jordan Greenwood ensured the spoils were shared. The game between Longlevens and King's Stanley was postponed.
