Gregory and Neil fire Post Office to summit

WESSEX SUNDAY LEAGUE: With most terams in cup action, Post Office Sports thrashed Withywood United 14-1 to jump to the top of the Senior Division on goal difference.

Two hat-tricks, one from Adam Gregory and the other from Robert Neill, were the highlights of a one-sided game. James Batchelor (2) Michael Grist (2), Dale Lovell (2), Michael Donigan, and Scott Lovell completed the rout.

FC Star on Sunday reached the second round of the League Cup with a convincing 7-3 win at fellow Division I side Sartan United.

Daniel Cook (2) James Lee (2) Stuart Lee, Sam Long and Adam Tonkin were on target for the away side, while Aaron Rees, Steven Shepherd and Christopher White replied for Sartan.

Also through to the second round are Team Jansen, who beat fellow Division I side Golden Lion Fishponds 7-1.

Ben Crewe and Gary Hancock both netted twice for Jansen, with Robert Dumphy, James Dunn and Bill Luton also on the scoresheet.

Senior Division Cutters Friday had no problems at home to Division II side Zimba, goals from Roy Albert, Ryan Bending and Scott Saunders clinching a comfortable 3-0 victory.

Three Lions also made it through with an impressive 5-0 away win at Long Ashton.

In the second round of the competition, there were wins for Coach House, who beat fellow Division I side Quality Finish 3-2, and Senior Division high-fliers SCS Sunday, who saw off Division I Rhubarb Athletic 3-1 with goals from Terry Caswell, Ben Fry and Jon Gardiner. Liam Bamford replied for Athletic.

In the first round of the President's Cup, there was a surprise win for AMC United from Division II, who toppled the division leaders, SCS Sunday Reserves 5-2.

Also through are Dart Veterans, who saw off Badgerline 5-0, and UWE Dynamos, who beat home side Castle Court United 2-1.

Division II outfit Real St George were awarded their tie against Rhubarb Athletic after their opponents were unable to raise a side.
